So, what I usually do after each shower is to splash clean water onto the bathroom walls to remove soapy residues. These residues if not removed will become the mail food source for mold.
I will also keep a bottle of diluted white vinegar in the bathroom and make sure to spray the vinegar solution onto the bathroom walls and shower curtain after each shower. This helps to prevent mold growth and disinfect at the same time. For the bathroom floor, I mop with diluted white vinegar too once in a week.
There are several helpful tips to help
Vacuuming and sweeping floors, cabinets, and closets are also of major importance to preventing water damage mold. Make sure you clean and dry any wet spot as soon as possible, less than 48 hours before it becomes the next breeding ground for the deadly mold.
Address all leaking pipes, roofs and windows without any delay. This is because mold needs a constant supply of moisture to take hold before multiplying. We stop mold by cutting off its water source. If a leak is repaired immediately, house mold cannot spread.
Be a mold inspector of your beloved home, and check especially the exterior. Are there any chances for water to leak into the interior? Fix as soon as possible any cracks in the wall. Mold inspection and mold detection go hand in hand towards mold control.
